Scenes from our Summer Sunset Salsa event on July 25, 2015.
On the first day of summer, Sunday, June 21, we hosted two performers at the Park as part of Make Music New York, an annual festival featuring more than 1,000 free concerts in public spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
The results are in! Four Freedoms Park received many fantastic photos of the Park in this year’s photo contest, and after narrowing the competition down to six, our friends and fans voted to select their favorite. After tallying hundreds of votes, we are pleased to announce the winner of the Four Freedoms Park’s 2nd annual photo contest…(drum roll please): Masha Drozdov.
Thank you to everyone who submitted photos to our Second Annual Photo Contest! We received many exciting entrees, from photos of the New York skyline to the FDR portrait bust to visitors jumping for joy. Your images captured our Park beautifully!
We are excited to kick off the new year by announcing the winner of our first-anniversary photo contest. Paul Jung will have the opportunity to spend an hour alone in the Park to photograph the Louis Kahn design and our one-of-a-kind views of the New York City skyline.
On Wednesday November 7, the Park saw its first snow! It dusted the granite, the lawn and the cobblestones – we feel very fortunate that the Memorial withstood Hurricane Sandy with very little damage. This dusting of snow brought some new life to the Park, and hopefully to the City.
