On Human Rights Day, December 10, 2015, the United Nations held a flower-laying ceremony at Four Freedoms Park. Dozens of senior UN officials, diplomats, students, and others gathered under our tent at the southern end of the Park to hear speakers pay homage to the legacy of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, and the meaning of the Four Freedoms today. Speakers included:
- Ambassador William vanden Heuvel, Founder & Chair Emeritus of the Four Freedoms Park
- Jan Eliasson, UN Deputy Secretary-General
- Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights
