Newsletter: Volume 1, Issue 8

Every month in our newsletter we tell a story about the Park. We are lucky, in a sense, because there are no shortages of stories to choose from, like the calls we receive to help plan surprise engagements, our participation in NYC's million tree campaign, or a visit from 55 Bronx students who created their own UN-inspired superheroes last week. Many of you may have explored the Park on google maps, discovered the legacy of FDR at, or learned what it takes to get the Park ready for spring.
But the story we can't tell enough is that none of this, our public programs, our educational initiatives, the maintenance and upkeep of this memorial, is possible without your support. It is you who brings the Park to life each day in every season, and you who makes these stories possible.

We ask you now to help support the Park during the annual appeal, our biggest fundraising campaign of the year. This campaign will help us keep the Park as beautiful today as it was when it opened three years ago. Your support will help us to:

  • Maintain and guide. Maintain the great lawn and granite, monitor and care for 125 trees, and provide free public tours to visitors.
  • Preserve and protect. Provide security of the memorial, polish and wax the bronze bust of FDR, and re-stain the inscription of the Four Freedoms speech.
  • Educate and inspire. Teach hundreds of students the legacy of FDR through art-based workshops and guided visits, and host public programs and events for visitors.

We invite you to join us this year by giving to Four Freedoms Park and helping us create hundreds of new stories for the days ahead. As always, please let us know if you have questions or ideas to make the Park even better, or if you simply wish to say hello. Thank you for being a part of our community – we look forward to seeing you at the Park soon and often!

All the best,
