Frequently Asked Questions
General
When is Camouflage on view?
The installation opens to the public on September 10, 2025, and it is currently planned to stay open through November 10, 2025, depending on weather conditions. Advance tickets are strongly encouraged.
Where is the Park located?
Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park is located at the southern tip of Roosevelt Island in New York City, in the East River between Manhattan and Queens.
What is the best way to get to the Park?
Ticket holders are strongly encouraged to take public transportation, the F train or Astoria Route Ferry, to Roosevelt Island. No parking is available at FDR Four Freedoms State Park. Due to recent overcrowding issues, the Roosevelt Island Tram is not a recommended form of transportation.
Tickets & Entry
Do I need a ticket to see Camouflage?
Yes. Timed-entry tickets, reserved in advance, are strongly suggested for all visitors. Entry is free, but the Park has a very limited capacity that cannot be exceeded for safety reasons. Reserving a ticket through our Eventbrite page ensures your entry at your chosen time. All tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.
How do I register for a ticket?
Tickets are available through Eventbrite. Choose your date and time, and you’ll receive a confirmation email. Your ticket will allow you entry at any time during your designated entry window. Don’t forget to bring your tickets with you to the Park, either in the Eventbrite app or print them out and bring them with you.
How much do tickets cost?
All tickets are free.
Is group registration available?
Yes. You may reserve up to 6 tickets per order.
Why does the Park require timed-entry tickets?
The Park is a unique memorial space with a fixed capacity. To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, and to protect the integrity of the site and the installation, we must carefully manage the number of people in the Park at any one time. Timed-entry tickets allow us to welcome visitors fairly and avoid sudden closures.
I heard that you can get in without a ticket. Can I enter the Park without one?
Entry without a ticket, reserved in advance, is not guaranteed. In rare cases, walk up visitors may be able to register for same day tickets on Eventbrite if space allows. Everyone has equal access to reserve a free timed-entry ticket, and we strongly encourage reserving your ticket in advance of your trip to Roosevelt Island.
Can I enter earlier or later than my ticketed time?
Tickets are valid for the entry time selected. If you arrive early, you may be asked to wait until your entry window opens. If you arrive late, staff will do their best to accommodate you, but entry is not guaranteed if the Park is already at capacity.
Can I still visit the Park if I don’t want to see Camouflage?
The installation encompasses all central areas of FDR Four Freedoms State Park. A separate, non-ticketed experience is not available during the exhibition period.
