ABOUT YOGA AT FOUR FREEDOMS PARK

All yoga classes will take place on our lawn, surrounded by spectacular views of the New York skyline. Classes are led by Roosevelt Island residents and certified yoga instructors Keren Messer, Lauren Blankstein, and Jax Schott. 

Classes are one hour; participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat and bottled water. Classes are weather dependent and subject to change; check our website for the most up-to-date information.

SCHEDULE

Drop-in Yoga, May 2 - August 27*
Ages 18+

Mondays, 6pm-7pm: Vinyasa with Lauren

This drop-in, open-level vinyasa class is suited for all abilities. Develop strength and flexibility as you flow through postures, coordinating movement with breath. A practitioner of vinyasa and kundalini Yoga, Lauren “gently guides students through a balanced practice that links breath and movement.”

Fridays, 6pm-7pm: Hatha with Keren

This drop-in, energizing, open-level hatha class is suited for all abilities and focuses on proper alignment and breath. Keren teaches hatha yoga with “humor, compassion and intensity, balancing precise instruction, fluid movement and alignment with breath.”

Saturdays, 10am-11am: Vinyasa with Jax

This drop-in, open-level vinyasa class is suited for all abilities. Develop strength and flexibility as you flow through postures, coordinating movement with breath. Jax has trained in Prana Vinyasa Flow and believes in “the healing properties of yoga, bringing a lot of heart, inspiration and creativity to her classes.”

*Yoga classes will not be held on Monday, May 30 and Monday, July 4. 

Drop-in Kids & Family Yoga, May 5 – June 30
Ages 4-7 with caregivers

Thursdays, 4pm-5pm: Kids & Family Yoga with Jax

Young yogis, ages 4-7 with caregivers, are invited to explore the art of yoga, building on basics that teach relaxation, self-esteem, strength, coordination, and flexibility. Parents/caregivers are welcome to join! Participants should wear comfortable clothes. Jax has trained in prana vinyasa flow and believes in “the healing properties of yoga, bringing a lot of heart, inspiration and creativity to her classes.”
