Four Freedoms Park and Ambassador vanden Heuvel Honored

Four Freedoms Park Conservancy is honored to have received three awards this season: The first is from the Society of American Registered Architects and is known as the 'Synergy Award.' We also received a Parks & Trails of New York George W. Perkins Award for Environmental Leadership and also were granted the Engineering News Record Award of Merit: in the category of Landscape/Hardscape/Urban Development.

In addition, The New York Landmarks Conservancy presented the Lew Rudin Living Landmark Award for Public Service to Ambassador vanden Heuvel, Chair Emeritus for his outstanding service in building Four Freedoms Park.

Gina Pollara, Executive Director, accepted the Synergy Award at the SARA National Convention this year alongside William Pedersen of Kohn Pederson Fox Architects who received the SARA International Award.

Ambassador William vanden Heuvel received the Lew Rudin Living Landmark Award for Public Service at the Living Landmarks Celebration. The Landmarks Conservancy also honored Robert I. Grossman MD, Joel Grey, Ann Buttenwieser, Brooke Shields and Mary Wells Lawrence for their extraordinary contributions to the City.
