NOTE: Four Freedoms Park will be closed from 12-5pm for the installation of restrooms and additional lighting to ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors at the family fireworks viewing.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON MONDAY, JULY 4, 2016
New York's iconic fireworks display returns to the East River this year! And this year is extra special: Macy's 4th of July Fireworks is turning the big 4-0 this year! The fireworks will be set off from the Brooklyn Bridge and from barges in the East River. The light show begins at 9:25pm. More details about the show are available at macys.com.
In celebration of the fourth, we invite you to join our family-friendly viewing at SouthPoint Park and Four Freedoms Park from 5pm-10:30pm. Note that while 3,500 tickets are available, capacity for this event at Four Freedoms Park is 1,750. If you would like to view the fireworks from Four Freedoms Park instead of SouthPoint Park, you need to be inside Four Freedoms Park's gates before capacity is met.

Print your ticket or show your confirmation email on your smart phone to collect a wristband. Wristbands will be distributed near Sportspark (250 Main Street). You will need the officially issued wristband to enter the Parks. This rule is extremely important for public safety. Anyone without a wristband will not be permitted into the Parks. No tickets available at the door.
- Entrance is first-come, first-served. The capacity for this event at Four Freedoms Park is 1,750.
- Gates open at 5:00pm. All visitors will be subject to airport-style security.
- Expect a 10-15 minute walk from all modes of transportation to security check-in at SouthPoint Park. Shuttle service will be provided for those requiring assistance.
- Public transportation is strongly encouraged. No parking is available on Roosevelt Island.
- Once capacity is reached, if you leave the Parks, there will be no reentry.
- No entrance is permitted after 9:00pm.
NO Food in Four Freedoms Park; food and beverages are permitted in SouthPoint Park
NO Glass Bottles
NO Bullhorns or noise makers
NO Sharp objects or weapons
NO Pets other than licensed service animals
NO Tree-climbing, fishing, or feeding of wildlife
NO Climbing of embankments or walls
NO Bicycles, roller skates, scooters, skateboards, or amplifiers
Food will be allowed inside Southpoint Park only. Attendees will be able to purchase food and beverages from Main Street Sweets, Neapolitan Pizza, Wings n' Things, and Great Performances.
There will be live music in Southpoint Park from 5:30 to 9pm. Enjoy Shiner and The Kyle Lacy Band at this year's celebration!
SouthPoint Park and Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park are located on the southernmost tip of Roosevelt Island in New York City’s East River. Visitors are strongly encouraged to use public transportation. No parking will be available on Roosevelt Island on July 4.
Tram: Take the tram at 59th St & 2nd Ave. Travel time to Roosevelt Island is 4-5 minutes with trams departing every 10 minutes. Exit at tram station on Roosevelt Island. Follow signs to Four Freedoms Park. If you take the tram to Roosevelt Island from 59th & 2nd, you can use your MTA subway card. MTA subway cards are available at the tram station.
Bus: From Queensboro Plaza overpass, take stairway down north side to corner of Crescent and Bridge Plaza North. Take the Q102 Queens Surface bus to Roosevelt Island. Follow signs to South Point and Four Freedoms Park.

For guests requiring assistance, shuttles will be operating on the island, picking guests up at the tram station, and dropping them off at the security checkpoint outside SouthPoint Park. RIOC and Four Freedoms Park staff will be on the ground between the tram and the park entrance on the south end of the island to help guests find their way and answer questions.
